THE CHEATED HUSBAND

IF THE husband in Apple Tree Yard looks familiar that’s because Mark Bonnar is also currently appearing in another drama, Unforgotten on ITV.

The 48-year-old, who hails from Edinburgh, started off working as a council planning officer but is now a TV stalwart with recent appearances in Shetland and the hit Channel 4 comedy Catastrophe.

Previous credits include Doctor Who, Line Of Duty, Vera and Grantchester.

“I’ve been doing this job for 20 years now but the past two or three have been the best of my career,” says Bonnar, who plays Gary Carmichael in the drama.

“I’ve been lucky but in this business you are only as good as your last job.” Bonnar, who lives in Hertfordshire, married actress Lucy Gaskell in 2007 and they have a five-year-old daughter Martha and a toddler son, Samuel.
