if I’d never been able to hear properly, but I think I’d just got used to it.”

Sue also found that the hearing test with Amplifon went into more detail than the one conducted by the NHS.

She recalls: “The hospital test was very basic. They didn’t do half the things that my audiologist did at Amplifon, who had much more time to go through everything.

“They listened to what my lifestyle was like, whereas the hospital didn’t have the time to go into the whole picture.

“My husband David came with me, so he could explain what it’s like at home as well.

“It’s not just an ear-based problem because it does affect your whole life.”

Amplifon offered Sue a trial for new hearing aids with no obligation to buy so she could try them at home.

Since then Sue, now 61, has found her life transformed.

Her audiologist adjusted her hearing aids so that she can now talk on the phone at work more easily.

She’s also able to connect her hearing aids to her mobile phone, making chatting to family and friends much easier.

Having fun has become easier too. At last Sue can properly enjoy going out to restaurants, the theatre and concerts with her husband David.

Best of all her new hearing aids adjust to the sounds around her.

She says: “I can even hear the birds in the morning now.”

Watching programmes on the TV has become a breeze too.

Sue says: “We don’t need the TV up so loud now because I can stream it straight to my hearing aids.”

And she adds with a laugh: “Now David asks why the TV has to be this low, because he can’t hear it!”

With the reassuring knowledge of guaranteed lifetime aftercare with her hearing aids, Sue urges anyone who thinks they might have a hearing problem to seek help from Amplifon.

Sue says: “I would recommend Amplifon without a doubt.

“They encouraged me to tell people I have a hearing problem and they’ve just been absolutely brilliant.

“I wish I’d seen them years ago.”
