Tyler gets reprimand
THE Sainsbury’s board has reprimanded its chairman David Tyler for using its staff and suppliers to help install underfloor heating at his country house.
Tyler, who has chaired the supermarket since 2009, was given a warning letter after an internal investigation concluded company policy had been breached in 2013. “The chairman volunteered the information and the board conducted a thorough investigation,” a spokesperson said.
“He was given a warning but the Board concluded that his failure to comply with policy was unintentional, that he did not act dishonestly and made no financial gain.”
