MEET BRITAIN’S MOST AMAZING SLIMMER
JENNIFER Ginley shed nearly 10 stone and changed her life after looking at pictures of herself at Disney World in Florida.
Now svelte Jennifer is set to get married after discouraging her boyfriend of 11 years to propose because she did not want to be an overweight bride.
The self-confessed “serial faileddieter” said the holiday snap forced her to change her diet after gorging on crisps, chocolates, greasy cafe food, chip shop meals, takeaways and fizzy drinks.
Jennifer, of Liverpool, said: “One picture of me with the Little Mermaid, my favourite Disney character, made me gasp.
“I saw myself in a whole new light, I looked so unhealthy that I cried, wondering how and why I had done that to myself.”
Jennifer, 26, has now been named Slimming World’s Miss Slinky 2017 and has gained 75,000 Instagram followers by recording her weight loss online.
Jennifer, who lives with her mother Janet and sister Christine, had to buy size 26 clothes for the family’s once-in-a-lifetime holiday to Florida.
She said: “I had to ask for a seat belt extender on the plane.
“I spent our time at Disney World having to ride on the adjusted seats for larger people and I was horrified when I saw the photos.”
Key
But after going to a Slimming World meeting she swapped the takeaways for fresh, wholesome and healthy food.
She said: “A really key part of my journey was keeping an online food diary so that I could chart my progress.
“From day one I posted my meals on my Instagram account and it really helped me to stay on track.”
Jennifer believes that the biggest change has been to her now positive thinking. Jennifer, a Citizens Advice caseworker, said: “Before I lost weight I had a massive lack of belief in myself and I feel like I wasted so many years with fake smiles that hid how unhappy I was.
“I was a serial faileddieter and could never understand how I could achieve so much in other areas of my life, yet I couldn’t control what I ate. Finally taking control of my weight was such a huge turning point for me, both physically and mentally.”
At just 9st 9lbs Jennifer now wears svelte size eight clothes and “can't wait to go dress shopping” for when she marries Luke Hagan, 27.
The bride-to-be is the cover star of the March/April 2017 edition of Slimming World Magazine. She added: “I feel like I’m a butterfly, emerging from my cocoon.”
