Meghan ‘moves in’ with Harry as fans bet on 2017 wedding
SMITTEN Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle has moved into his cottage at Kensington Palace, friends say.
The couple have been almost inseparable since the end of 2016 and American actress Meghan, 35, is currently free from filming scenes for TV drama Suits in Canada.
The couple have now “taken things to the next level”, those close to them have revealed.
And as their budding relationship steps up a gear, the pair were pictured holding hands in public for the first time this week on a low-key dinner date in London.
Harry, 32, guided Meghan along the busy streets by taking her hand as they left private members’ club Soho House on Wednesday.
The couple, who met in May last year, are now odds-on to get engaged this year with bookmaker Coral.
Friends say Meghan has “virtually moved in” to Harry’s home and the pair are now “practically” living together.
Roots
Meghan is said to cook for Harry while he heads to the gym.
A friend added that Meghan, who is based for work in Toronto, enjoys spending time in London and is “putting down roots”.
One source suggested she is ready to give up acting and move to London permanently.
Meghan met Harry in May last year in Canada, where he was promoting the Paralympic-style Invictus Games for wounded veterans, which he founded.
The two are said to have bonded over a shared interest in humanitarian causes.
Meghan has a strong interest in charity work, which follows in the footsteps of Harry’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
The couple’s romance was revealed by the Sunday Express last October.
And Harry has revealed he hopes the relationship will last.
One close friend said: “We were joking with him that it was about time he pulled his finger out and got a girlfriend. He said, ‘Well, I have got one and I hope that something is going to come out of it’.”
Meghan, who has an AfricanAmerican mother and DutchIrish father, is said to have charmed members of the Royal Family, including Prince Charles.
And Harry was introduced to the actress’s 72-year-old father, Thomas, during a visit to Canada.
Prince Harry and Meghan are now 10-11 with leading bookmaker Coral to get engaged this year.
The firm has seen a flurry of bets in the past 24 hours on the couple making an announcement.
It is offering 8-1 that the pair tie the knot in 2017 and 10-1 for them to reveal they are expecting a baby at some point this year.
“Punters are convinced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to take the next step in their relationship as they continue to back the couple to get engaged in 2017,” said Coral spokesman, John Hill.
The couple’s fledgling relationship was confirmed last year in an unprecedented statement issued by Harry’s communications secretary.
It urged respect for Miss Markle’s privacy, saying she had suffered “abuse and harassment” since reports of romance first surfaced. Since then the couple have made no attempt to hide their relationship.
Patrick Adams, who plays Miss Markle’s fictional fiance in Suits, said she would be able to cope with the growing media attention over her relationship.
Tattoos
“If there’s anyone in the world who is designed to be able to deal with it and deal with it professionally, it’s Meghan Markle,” he said.
Meghan last month had her hands painted with henna tattoos in India while carrying out charity work in Delhi.
She helped to promote women’s health and hygiene as an ambassador for World Vision Canada, a Christian aid charity.
MEGHAN MARKLE is said to have “virtually moved in” with Prince Harry as bookmakers say the couple are now odds on to get engaged by the end of the year. Such talk may be premature but wouldn’t it be wonderful to see the couple live happily ever after.
