Cheeseburg­er pizza

This recipe is a fast-food fantasy, mixing the delights of pizza and a cheeseburg­er in one home-cooked recipe. The honey and mustard sauce is a flavourful twist on a tomato base. Serves 4.

INGREDIENT­S

125g minced beef

Salt and pepper

1 large pizza base

11/2 teaspoons olive oil

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

2 tablespoon­s Dijon mustard

11/2 tablespoon­s honey

1 small red onion, finely chopped

40g chopped gherkin

1 tomato, seeded and chopped

150g mozzarella cheese, grated

100g mild cheddar cheese, grated

METHOD

1) Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan assisted, gas mark 6.

2) Cook the beef thoroughly, drain, season with salt and pepper and set aside.

3) Place the pizza base on a suitable baking tray and drizzle with olive oil, being sure to brush the edges well.

4) Meanwhile, combine the yellow and Dijon mustard and honey in a bowl and stir to combine.

5) Evenly spread the mustard sauce over the pizza base. Evenly top with half of the ground beef, red onion, gherkins, and tomatoes. Sprinkle half the mozzarella and all of the cheddar cheese over the ingredient­s.

6) Evenly top with the remaining ground beef, onions, tomatoes and pickles. Finally, top with remaining mozzarella.

7) Place in the oven for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted. Once the pizza is cooked and cheese has melted, remove from the oven and allow to cool. Set for a few minutes before serving.
