Chris is wild about Blades

-

SHEFFIELD UNITED manager Chris Wilder was delighted with his team after their 2-0 victory over promotion rivals Bolton.

The Blades moved seven points clear of second-placed Scunthorpe and Fleetwood.

Wilder said: “The whole club has got its head down and done the talking on the pitch. We had a few words at half-time, calmed ourselves down and I thought in the second half we completely dominated the game.”

An own goal by Bristol Rovers captain Tom Lockyer handed Scunthorpe a point in a 1-1 draw and left Pirates manager Darrell Clarke desperate for a return to winning ways soon.

“We are not far away from where we want to be,” he said.

Fleetwood cruised to a 3-0 victory over Northampton but manager Uwe Rosler was critical of the Cobblers. “The way they got physical with our players at times was borderline,” he said.

Ferguson is left fuming

DARREN FERGUSON felt it was “two points dropped” for leaders Doncaster as they could only draw 2-2 at home to Accrington.

Rovers could have increased their advantage at the top, but were hit by a late Accrington equaliser.

Rovers boss Ferguson said: “We managed to get ourselves in the lead but we just didn’t get that third goal to kill the game off. We had so many opportunities.”

Second-placed Plymouth drew 1-1 at promotion rivals Luton, much to the satisfaction of manager Derek Adams. “It’s testament to the players that we have a very good away record,” he said.

Hatters head coach Nathan Jones said: “I’m very proud of them, we showed what a real strong, good side we are. I’m just disappointed that we didn’t get all three points.”

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale was delighted with his team’s “intent, determination and effort” as an injury-time equaliser earned a point in a 2-2 home draw against Blackpool.
