Why acting quickly and taking aspirin slashes the threat of a fatal stroke

That patient’s subsequent stroke has left him unable to work and has had an immeasurab­le impact on his life and independen­ce. He now suffers from weakness on his left side, difficulty co-ordinating the use of his left hand, extreme tiredness, poor memory and confusion.

The victim was awarded £470,000 in compensati­on, and although it in no way makes up for the illness and pain that he suffered, financial remunerati­on ensures he can receive the right level of treatment and long-term care. Hugh James is supporting the call for more awareness of the power of aspirin and the need for it to be administer­ed immediatel­y, possibly helping to save other patients from having to go through a similar ordeal.

Although it doesn’t compensate for the illness and pain suffered, financial remunerati­on is available to ensure people can receive the right level of treatment and care to live with the aftermath of a stroke.
