‘I once did a £480 shop for £4. People beg for my advice’

A MOTHER of three has saved more than £48,000 for her family by snapping up special offers.

The coupon collector is so good at sifting through bargains that she has been able to give up her job and has become an online star.

Aimee Moore, 42, now has 28,000 followers on Facebook looking out for her ingenious money-saving tips.

The self-described “cashback queen” has managed to cut her family’s weekly food shop from £220 to £30.

Her resourceful ways have allowed her to quit her job as a warehouse supervisor to become a full-time mother to her three sons, Isaac, eight, Dexter, six, and Bertie, 23 months.

Aimee, who has been with husband Kevin for more than 15 years, said: “Through couponing and cashback deals, I have saved over £12,000 on our bills per year.

“I have been able to become a stay-at-home mum to my children which is something I always dreamed of but never seemed possible before.

“We are able to spend time together as a family on the week thousands end and go out to places which we couldn’t afford before.”

Aimee, from Scarborough, North Yorks, started couponing in 2013.

She set up a Facebook page called Extreme Couponing and Cash Back UK less than a year ago after people constantly asked her for advice on how to save money.

Aimee said: “I was getting lots of messages from friends asking me how I was saving money and people would approach me in the supermarket when they saw me with my coupons.

“It seemed easier to just put all my money-saving tips in one place for my friends. I started racking up thousands of followers every month.”

As well as spending a few hours each evening looking for coupons, Aimee’s secret is never buying anything without researching the cost. She also regularly checks for the latest mortgage and insurance offers to make sure she is getting the best deal possible.

She said: “I once did a £480 household shop for £4. I have slashed my yearly food bill by and I get 99 per cent of our family’s toiletries for next to nothing – if not free. But you can also save considerable money on virtually anything – clothes, holidays, insurance, toys, you name it.

“The only thing I have to buy full price is diesel. Unfortunately there’s always something in life that you can’t get a coupon for.”

Aimee was inspired to try the world of couponing when she and Kevin were looking to save money due to the high costs of child care in 2013. After watching Extreme Couponing USA on TV Aimee was moved to try it out for herself.

She says: “I felt like I had been set a challenge. I bought the cheapest smartphone possible and asked my brother to download some cashback apps. My first coupon was for free milk. The following week I managed to save £70 on everything from cheese to pasta. I couldn’t believe the discounts.”

THROUGH coupons and cashback deals mum-of-three Aimee Moore, from Scarborough, has managed to save £12,000 a year, enough to quit her job and do something that’s truly priceless – spend more time with her family. Bargain lovers everywhere will salute her dedication.
