Comedy: Bucket, 10pm, BBC4

Miriam Margolyes sparkles in this new comedy as a woman who learns she is dying and sets out, with her reluctant daughter in tow, to tick a number of things off her preposterous bucket list. Mim (Margolyes, far left, with Frog Stone as daughter Fran) is an eccentric free spirit who, rather, than being daunted by the prospect of death, is almost invigorated by it. Despite the bad news about her health she is eager to get in a car and go on an adventure. The relationship between her and her daughter, a reserved history teacher, has never been the easiest but in tough times you simply have to unite. Somehow, they manage to find comedy in tragedy. This bittersweet comedy is just a superb piece of television.
