Amanda ticks off boy comic’s father for dog joke that shocked her

- By Giles Sheldrick

BRITAIN’S Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was left speechless when an eight-year-old comedian cracked a joke branding her a “dog”.

She was shocked after little Ned Woodman picked on her as part of his act.

The angelic looking schoolboy stunned the audience – and left Amanda’s fellow judges in stitches – when he said: “I don’t understand why people are so excited about a talking dog on Britain’s Got Talent… Amanda Holden’s been on it for years.”

Simon Cowell leapt out of his chair in stitches but Amanda, 46, was not impressed.

She gave Ned’s father, who penned the jokes for his son’s act, a dressing down because she felt the quip was “inappropriate” for a child to tell.

The scenes were censored by ITV and will not be aired tonight as the popular talent show returns for its 11th series.

Amanda said: “I did have words with his parents but it got edited out. I don’t think any parent would let their child say that. His father wrote it. He is a child and I don’t think that is the right kind of humour to come out of a child’s mouth.

“He was funny but I think he should temper his act to his own kind of age.

“I am not a dog. It is just that it came out of an eight-year-old’s mouth. I don’t think he would have thought of the joke.”

Ned has the audience in fits of laughter picking on all the judges and hosts Ant and Dec.

The schoolboy from Maidstone, Kent, said: “I was really worried for David Walliams when he swam in the River Thames for charity because of all that garbage going in his mouth.

“But since I’ve been watching BGT I’m relieved it’s been all coming out again.”

Viewers will also see The Missing People Choir audition on the show. The community group is made up of family members whose loved ones have disappeared and whose whereabouts are still unknown.

They perform an original song called “I Miss You” as images of their lost children flash up on a screen behind them.

The TV judges, who are parents, are moved to tears.

Other highlights include magician Niels Harder, who guillotines host Ant, teenage singer Sarah Ikumu, dancing policeman Dan Graham and a dog yoga expert called Mahny.
