- By John Twomey

A GRIEF-STRICKEN father paid tribute yesterday to his “absolute angel” of a wife and loving son, who were stabbed to death in their family home last month.

Peter Wilkinson was seriously injured in the attack, which killed his wife Tracey, 50, and Pierce, 13, in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

Their student daughter Lydia, 18, was away at the time.

A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder and attempted murder. He has been remanded in custody.

Fighting back tears, company director Mr Wilkinson, 47, said: “We were in a happy family bubble, the four of us. Lydia was at Bristol University, doing great. Pierce was at school which he loved and my wife was an absolute angel.

“We had such a happy family life. We are good people.

“We always helped others, we are a charitable family. My wife did a lot of work to help other people. We miss them so much.”

He added: “We sit talking about it every day. We were really happy. Now our lives have got a huge Peter Wilkinson suffered six deep stab wounds hole in them. I nearly lost my life. I have got six deep stab wounds. “I had a lot of internal injuries and was in intensive care for six days. It was touch and go. “I am physically very weak now. I will take months to recover.” Mr Wilkinson and his wife had been renovating their house before the attack. “It was our labour of love,” he said. He added: “Our roots are in Stourbridge and we will continue to live in the area. The support we’ve had has been phenomenal. We don’t know how we will move on but we will find happiness again.”
