Property: How To Live Mortgage Free With Sarah Beeny, 8pm, C4

The dreaded monthly mortgage payments are a burden for many households in the UK. Imagine, just for a second, you could get rid of them for good. In this series Sarah Beeny (left) meets inspiring people who have found a way to live without a mortgage as they share their secrets on how they liberated themselves from debt. They include Kimberley, a 29-year-old who decides to leave London to transform a 100-year-old Dutch barge.

Soap: Coronation Street, 7.30pm, ITV

Craig (Colson Smith, above right) pops into the tanning salon to see Bethany (Lucy Fallon, above centre) but the visit prompts Nathan (Christophe­r Harper, above left) to announce he thinks Craig is obsessed with her. Meanwhile, Adam starts questionin­g Amy about Tracy’s movements on the night of Ken’s assault, before calling a meeting with Peter and Daniel to share his suspicions about Tracy, suggesting she tried to kill her dad.

Entertainm­ent: Tonight At The London Palladium, 8pm, ITV

There is an enduring appeal about variety shows that British television audiences never seem to tire of. This particular show first ran for two decades from the mid-1950s under hosts including Bruce Forsyth, Norman Vaughan and Jimmy Tarbuck. Bradley Walsh is the current frontman and he kicks off another new series by welcoming Scottish songstress Emeli Sandé (left), the Chinese State Circus and magician Pete Firman to the stage. Pop fans are also in for a treat, with the first TV performanc­e of the new single from revived group Steps to enjoy. The final act on stage tonight is the cast of The Phantom Of The Opera, who put on a very polished performanc­e.

Animals: Me And My Dog: The Ultimate Contest, 8pm, BBC2

This series has captured the hearts of animal lovers across the land. Chris Packham (above) hosts the third of four episodes tonight as eight more hopefuls attempt to make it to the grand final. In the Lake District, the Yellow team have a chance to score points in scent-based orienteeri­ng while the Red team take on a woodland obstacle course. In the final round the pairs take part in an open-water swim.

Medicine: Confession­s Of A Junior Doctor, 9pm, C4

This was filmed at the peak of the junior doctor crisis last year and gives an insight into the thinking of those involved. Working in every department, from A&E corridors to operating theatres, junior doctors are facing increased pressure as the NHS struggles to cope with the rising number of patients. The first episode follows new graduates as they begin to understand the reality of their chosen career.
