STEVE COOK would welcome John Terry to Bournemouth but has warned no big-name arrival will break into Eddie Howe’s back four without a fight.
Cook collected three player-of-the-year awards for his performances this term before the Cherries signed off at the Vitality Stadium for the season.
But the left-sided centre-back knows his position would be under threat if Howe can persuade Terry to finish his career on the south coast when the former England skipper quits Chelsea this summer.
Cook said it would be a huge boost for Bournemouth, who after managed to kick-on after good endings to seasons.
“As players, we are responsible for what’s happened and we deserve to be where we are but I think everyone needs to look at this as an opportunity to get things right for the future.”
