Citroën goes bold with C3 Aircross

-

IT’S A case of out with the MPV and in with the SUV for Citroën. This is the first picture of the French firm’s new C3 Aircross which will go on sale later this year.

Replacing the C3 Picasso, the Aircross has lost none of the eyecatching looks from its concept original first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring. Going head-to-head with the Peugeot 2008 and Renault Captur, as well as using Citroën’s Puretech three-cylinder engine range, the C3 Aircross will feature smart practical touches such as a sliding rear seat and a twin-level boot.

On the outside there are 90 colour combinations with a choice of body and roof colour that also affects the roof bars, front-light surrounds, door mirrors and rear quarterlight panels.

C3 Aircross prices are likely to start from around £14,500 when it goes on sale on November 1. VOLKSWAGEN has released the first pictures of the new sixth generation of its Polo supermini, which will arrive in January. Larger than before, the new Polo will be available only as a five-door but will boast more technology and safety equipment than ever. As well as city emergency braking and blind-spot detection, it will also offer an optional active information display like Audi’s digital dashboard, enabling the driver to adapt the dials for a sat nav screen. Volkswagen is promising a hot hatch GTI version plus a sporty R-Line trim level and more exterior colour and personalisation options than before. However there is unlikely to be a hybrid or electric version as VW will introduce its new ID electric car family in 2020. The Polo is VW’s second biggest UK seller (after the Golf) with 25 per cent of sales. Official prices have yet to be announced but expect the new VW Polo to start at £13,000.
