Bruce flourished in a golden era of TV entertainment
BRUCE Forsyth passing after 70 years in showbusiness is a performer we’ll remember (“Bruce’s memory lives on”, August 21). Like millions, I watched Sunday Night At The London Palladium, The Generation Game and others such as Play Your Cards Right, The Price Is Right and Strictly – a long line of achievements for the star.
Sir Bruce flourished in a golden era of TV hits that also brought us Morecambe and Wise and Terry Wogan to name but a few. A time that seems long lost to us now. Better times in terms of TV entertainment.
One slightly sour note for me was the Strictly Come Dancing anniversary broadcast when Sir Bruce was ill. I waited in vain for a reference to him and his contribution to the show which was enormous.
However since his death I notice some on the show have paid tribute to him posthumously.
RIP Bruce, you gave so much to make so many people happy and brighten their lives. You certainly did well. Brian George,
