State must step up efforts to thwart radicalisa­tion

ATROCITIES in the world are a nightmare for all concerned but you have to ask why so many youngsters are getting involved? Is it because they feel left out or has something gone wrong in their life?

Family life is not as close knit as it used to be and when youngsters look elsewhere for stimulatio­n they are liable to being influenced by extremist organisati­ons.

There are no easy ways to stop this but interventi­on schemes staged by churches and other youth organisati­ons, to help alienated youngsters feel part of a family, would be a start.

But the Government needs to take this problem seriously before it is too late. John Wilmott, Nottingham immigrants are claiming benefits or working for low pay and reducing our quality of life.
