Drugs group Shire weakened by 151½p to 3613p as it announced senior management changes, including the departure at the end of this year of its chief financial officer Jeff Poulton. Video games retailer Game Digital edged up ¼p to 24¼p as it flagged plans to pilot concession­s in specialist technology retailer Maplin, while esports firm Gfinity scored a 1½p gain to 22½p on the back of a partnershi­p with Formula 1, which will see gamers vying to be the best virtual F1 driver. Computer games developer Frontier Developmen­ts jumped 113p to 844p as it announced its new game, Jurassic World Evolution, based on the blockbuste­r movie franchise, would launch next summer.

Education software and services provider Tribal Group was marked up 1¾p to 72¼p after winning two contracts worth a total £25.3million, while a bullish trading update lifted banknotes authentica­tion technology supplier Spectra Systems 17½p to 92½p.
