Wood can be our big Neym

- MIKE WHALLEY DARREN WITCOOP

SEAN DYCHE has told new Burnley arrival Chris Wood not to worry about his club-record fee – and take some inspiration from Neymar.

Wood, below, has completed his move from Leeds in a deal worth an initial £15 million, which could rise to £17m with add-ons.

It is the fourth time the Clarets have broken their transfer record in just over 12 months, with Steven Defour, Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady the previous holders. Dyche, though, thinks Wood can be inspired by Neymar, who scored two goals on his home debut for Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday after his world-record £198m move from Barcelona. The Burnley boss said: “Neymar bagged a couple the other night, didn’t he? He went for a couple of quid. He just got on with it. “People used to ask: ‘Is it hard carrying that price tag around?’ But that does not exist any more, because everyone has a massive price tag now.” TROY DEENEY will be auditioning for his Watford place at Vicarage Road tonight. The Hornets skipper, left, could start against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup following a groin operation. He is battling with Richarlison and Andre Gray to lead the attack. Watford also hope to complete a loan deal for Benfica winger Andre Carrillo, 26.

WEST BROM have lost their appeal against the red card Hal Robson-Kanu received against Burnley on Saturday for catching Matt Lowton with his forearm.
