BYPASS THE PARASITES OF BRUSSELS TO MAKE US A FREE-TRADING NATION ONCE MORE

-

WE have a new chief negotiator in our dealings with the group of EU mandarins with whom we have to negotiate Brexit. His name is Mr Crawford Falconer and to judge by what he writes he is a passionate advocate of global free trade. Well, good. Because free trade is the one practice that converted this tiny island group into a world power.

Right across Europe there are hundreds of thousands of manufacturers and traders whose prosperity or even existence depend on trade with us, what is known as “the British account”. Basically, they collectively sell us each year over £80billion more product and services than we sell them. Some, such as Mercedes, are big but most are middling to small. We can import all that stuff from elsewhere in the world if we are forced to. But those actually negotiating with us are not the manufacturers.

They are the Eurocrats who do not give a stuff about those who create prosperity. Parasites such as Juncker, Verhofstadt, Tusk, etc, only give a damn about their vast salaries, limousines, expenses, five-star hotels and private jets. Hence the blackmail – no real talks until we have conceded a massive multibillion handover to keep them in the style to which they have long become accustomed.

We simply have to bypass the spongers of Brussels and appeal to the industry of continental Europe. Hopefully that is what Mr Falconer has in mind. As he remarked: “For the first time in over 40 years we will be able to shape the UK’s own trade policy and take advantage of the forecast 90 per cent of global trade that will be conducted outside the EU over the next 20 years.”

Ninety per cent of global trade! We absolutely must have free access to that.

Why can our ever-fewer Remainer fanatics not see EU trade is steadily falling and rest-of-world prosperity relentlessly increasing?
