Frankly, this is must-win

- Alex Bywater

CRYSTAL PALACE manager Frank de Boer has labelled today’s game with Swansea a ‘must-win’.

Palace have lost both Premier League games and have yet to score. De Boer admitted: “We must win, of course we must. In football you don’t get time.

“We need three points to give us time and the breathing space that is important. If not it becomes very difficult.”

De Boer has been made the favourite to become the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season. He said: “I’m not worried because I believe we have enough quality in our side – but we do need to win at Selhurst Park. At home you expect it.”

Swansea midfielder Sam Clucas hopes a return to the Premier League can help him win an England cap.

He swapped Hull for the Swans in a £16million move this week and is set to make his debut today. Clucas was released by Leicester eight years ago and worked in the cafe of Lincoln’s Debenhams while playing non-league.

A stint at Glenn Hoddle’s academy in Spain gave the 26-year-old a lifeline and he has worked his way back.

Clucas is determined to impress this term and make it to international level.

“I hope I can put my name out there this season,” he said. “I set myself big targets and if you don’t do that you’re never going to achieve them.”
