Herd the one about an invasion by cattle?

- By Jan Disley

RESIDENTS enjoying breakfast in a sleepy Cheshire village got the fright of their lives when their quiet streets were overrun by a herd of around 40 cows.

Bollington’s neatly-tended flower beds became an all-you-can-eat buffet for the visiting bovines, who also left numerous “calling cards” on the village’s pristine driveways. said Janis. “It was quite a strange thing to wake up to.

“I don’t know where they came from.

“There are cows at the bottom of our road in a field. I don’t know if a gate or a fence was left open.”

A Cheshire police spokesman confirmed that nobody had been injured in the incident.
