The mini marvel

Here’s a travel scooter option for all seasons

-

THE weather’s closing in but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to go outside. Autumn, for all its wet and windy moments, can be glorious and even the coldest of winter days has its own attraction – the fresh air, the frosty chill, even the snow.

And there are plenty of reasons, too, why you need to go out, not least the shopping.

Mobility problems can seem so much worse through the winter – and yet there’s an answer, with a touch of Scandi style.

The Mini Crosser is built in Denmark and tested under extreme Nordic conditions.

It’s the sports utility vehicle of the mobility scooter world and the best-selling in Europe.

The rugged but elegant machine is the result of a team-up between Elite Mobility, one of Britain’s leading and longest-established mobility retailers, and one of Europe’s most respected and innovative scooter manufacturers.

The Mini Crosser is subjected to rigorous safety tests – and if it can cope with the rugged terrain and extreme winter environment of Scandinavia, it can easily see off a blustery day back home. Should we get snow, it will have seen that before, too.

No need to worry about the winter chill either as one of the options is a cabin heater.

You can even take the Mini Crosser off-road. It is built to such a high standard that you can satisfy your spirit of adventure by exploring Britain’s national parks, coastline and stunning countryside.

The scooter has superb suspension and an anti-tilt option. All versions can be fitted with wide, cross-country wheels.

The Mini Crosser is available in a variety of models, both three and four-wheel, and there’s even the option of a waterproof cabin for the four-wheel version – not only perfect for those rainy days but also for those suffering lung and respiratory conditions.

The sturdy cabin has an electric washer/wiper, while large all-round windows ensure excellent visibility coupled with the LED lights.

There is a big choice of cabin accessories, including a swivel Ergo posture seat, excellent for those with arthritis, muscular atrophy, MS and back pain, offering adjustable widths and heights. Other options include a reversing camera, so no more straining to see behind you.

And on those days when the winter weather takes a turn for the better, the cabin windows of the lockable side doors can be opened for fresh air.

As the weather improves, simply detach and store the doors until such time as the colder, damp weather starts to kick in again.

Most versions are steered by traditional handlebars but there is also the Mini Crosser M-joy model with joystick control that has been developed for users with limited strength in their hands and arms.

Winter may be on its way, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t be on your way too. INFORMATION: 0800 169 5910/ elitemobility.co.uk
