It’s an (Uptown) girl! Billy Joel is a dad again...at age of 68
SHE is his brand new Uptown Girl, born in his beloved New York City at the weekend.
And a proud Billy Joel yesterday could not contain his joy as he tenderly cradled his newborn daughter after becoming a father for the third time at the age of 68.
The American singer posted the heart-warming picture of himself holding baby Remy – his second child with wife Alexis, 35 – on his website yesterday.
The Joel family said in a statement: “Billy Joel and wife Alexis welcomed their second daughter, Remy Anne, on Sunday, October 22nd.
“Remy Anne Joel entered the world at 7:52pm weighing 7lb 3oz. Billy and Alexis are also parents to Della Rose, two.
“Billy and his 31-year-old daughter, singer/songwriter Alexa Ray Joel, were both at Alexis’ side as she gave birth at New York University Hospital.
“Alexis and Remy are doing well and everyone is thrilled.”
The photo shows the singer in a hospital room cradling Remy who is dressed all in pink and wearing a hat embroidered with her name.
Joel, who has been married four times, is the sixth-biggest-selling artist of all time, with more than 82 million album sales.

Della Rose was born in August 2015, shortly after Joel and Alexis married at his Long Island estate.
The couple “surprised guests” at their annual Fourth of July party “by exchanging vows in front of their family and close friends”, a spokeswoman said at the time.
In October 2015, the couple celebrated Della Rose’s christening in Roslyn, New York.
The singer, whose hits include It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me, My Life and We Didn’t Start The Fire, recently enthused about Della, saying: “She sleeps through the night. I hope the next one will.”
Alexa Ray is the result of Joel’s marriage to the former supermodel Christie Brinkley.
Christie recently posed with Alexa Ray and her daughter by another marriage Sailor Brinkley Cook, 19, for the cover of US magazine Sports Illustrated – at the age of 63.
She said at the time: “I figured with my gorgeous daughters Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook by my side, who’s going to be looking at me!”
Christie, who famously starred in the video for Joel’s 1983 UK number one hit Uptown Girl, thanked Sports Illustrated for “sending a powerful message that good things come in packages of every size and we do not come with an expiration date!”
