Jo Thomas, 53, ditched her job as a special needs assistant to take the wheel of a bright yellow rickshaw.

The mum-of-two from Redbourn, Herts, was inspired by a visit to Sri Lanka with husband David earlier this year. She spent £5,000 to get a new tuk-tuk shipped over and on the road. Now she hires out her “little ray of sunshine” for private events.

Jo said: “I suppose people might think it’s something of a midlife crisis and I’ve got a strange reputation around the village. But it just makes people smile.”
