WORLD OF Taylor’s hoping to be in the pink
SARAH TAYLOR turned her attention to the crucial day-night Test after England Women won the third one-day international to collect their first points of the Ashes.
Australia were victorious in the first two ODIs to take a 4-0 lead but England’s 20-run DuckworthLewis win at Coffs Harbour yesterday left the multi-format series in the balance.
Taylor, Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight all scored half-centuries to lift England to 284-8. The weather reduced the Australian target to 278 in 48 overs but they fell short.
The sides will now prepare for the only Test of the series, which begins on November 9 before ending the series with three T20s.
“We had to put a good target on the board,” said wicketkeeper-batsman Taylor of the ODI win.
“We don’t get to play Tests that often, but we’ve put a lot of preparation into playing with the pink ball, so it’s exciting.”
