Cosy comfort puts spring in your step

- By George Nichols

MANY of us suffer from problems with our feet as we get older. We have aches and pains and our feet get swollen simply through the stresses and strains of everyday life. Yet it’s not just the pain that hurts, it’s the problem of finding shoes – even slippers – that fit with comfort.

Although older people tend to be those who suffer most, it’s not always the case – and younger sufferers also have the difficulty of finding shoes that look, well, normal.

And that’s where Cosyfeet comes in, utilising more than 30 years of experience to create a whole range of styles and shoe types that bring relief yet still look like normal footwear.

All Cosyfeet footwear is extra roomy, designed for those who find it difficult or impossible to get high street footwear to fit.

Cosyfeet’s most popular shoe is Karen, soft, stretchy and perfect for misshapen, sensitive or swollen feet. They’re supportive around the heel with hardwearing yet flexible soles but won’t put pressure on painful toes, joints or swelling.

A Teflon coating makes them stain- and water-resistant and the elastane upper moulds to the shape of the foot. You may have swollen feet but you still want to do things. Cosyfeet’s waterproof footwear lets you get out to walk the dog whatever the weather.

Stanley shoes and Livingstone boots for men give good grip and shock absorbing for extra comfort.

Water-repellent leather combined with a breathable, windproof and waterproof CosyTex membrane keeps feet fresh, warm and dry.

Minnie and Moose shoes and boots, in various colours and with cool walking boot style, offer the same protection for women. When you get back inside you want your feet to be just as cosseted. Cosyfeet has a whole range that would be helpful for those with poor circulation – and that would make a perfect Christmas gift.

For women, the Elise bootee, in a polka dot design, has a warm lining and touch-fastening straps. The cushioned footbed is removable for extra depth while the broad toe gives plenty of space for problem toes.

FOR men, the Rudolph comes in half a dozen colours and fabrics; the fleecy faux fur lining gives instant comfort while the faux fur footbed can be removed to give extra room.

The big bonus is that you don’t have to tramp the high street to find the comfort of Cosyfeet. Everything can be bought from the Cosyfeet website, along with a whole range of socks and medical aids.

Don’t let swollen or extra wide feet slow you down – Cosyfeet shoes are wider and roomier than anything you’ll find on the high street.
