Christmas 2042? Yule eat insects!

-

IT might be hard to swallow now, but Christmas dinner for Britons in 25 years’ time could include tasty insects and charcoal.

And if you still go for the traditional turkey in 2042, robots will handle the cooking and take care of cleaning the dishes, according to research.

It predicts that homes will have smart kitchens and virtual reality to help with tasks on the big day.

The shopping list of the future will include a sustainable source of protein through insect-based dishes and a focus on superfoods to aid digestion.

Using social media, you will also be able to share the sights, sounds and textures of your festive culinary delights with friends.

Lucy Hurrell-Morgan, of Lurpak that commissioned the study, said: “Britain is a nation of food lovers and when it comes to festive culinary delights we don’t hold back.

“Throwing caution to the wind is what we will continue to do in years to come.”
