Camera floats 350 miles... and works

-

A VIDEO camera which captured a British family enjoying a seaside holiday in Yorkshire has been found 350 miles away on a tiny German island.

The small camera still works and shows two children on a beach searching rock pools with a bucket on September 1.

About 15 minutes later a wave washes the device into the North Sea.

It was found on Hallig Suderoog, a low-lying island off the north-east coast of Germany, by Roland Spreer, 67, whose son Holger posted the footage on social media.

The video, filmed on an SJCAM HD 1080P, is thought to have been shot at Thornwick Bay, Flamborough, which was identified by lifeboat charity the RNLI after an appeal by the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service.

If you can help reunite the video with its owners, email neleundholger@ halligsuderoog.de.
