Turn down the volume on this disruptive TV racket

WITH regards to the booming background noise on TV (Letters, November 28) I too am sick of this ridiculous racket during what could otherwise be very good programmes.

Half the time you can’t hear what is being said. The soaps don’t seem to have this problem. John Graham,
