CMA to stub out resale sites
COMPETITION watchdogs have announced a crackdown on secondary ticketing websites that fail to tell customers about restrictions on the tickets they are buying.
An in-depth investigation has highlighted “widespread concerns” about information people are given, according to the Competition and Markets Authority, which has gathered evidence it considers reveals breaches of consumer protection law.
It did not name the websites, which resell tickets for events the original buyer cannot attend, but warned of court action if needed.
