Moyes is dealt unlucky hand

- Tom Prentki

DAVID MOYES confronted referee Bobby Madley at the final whistle after Callum Wilson’s equaliser in the third minute of added time was allowed to stand.

Both West Ham manager Moyes and his Bournemouth counterpart Eddie Howe were baffled as to what happened in the aftermath of Wilson’s goal and could not say whether the linesman had flagged for offside or handball.

“For him to overrule the linesman’s decision was incredible,” said Moyes. “The goal should have been ruled out.

“I’ve got to say when I saw the commotion I thought there would be no way he’d overturn it. What you can’t question is that the player put it in with the top of his arm.”

Howe said: “I didn’t think it was going to be given because of the length of the conversation. It looks like we’ve got away with one there. I’ve no idea what happened. I

haven’t seen it again.” West Ham thought they had won it when two goals in the last nine minutes from record signing Marko Arnautovic put them 3-2 up going into six minutes of extra time.

But when Nathan Ake rose to head Lewis Cook’s ball towards the far corner, Wilson bundled the ball in.

The Cherries fell behind to James Collins’ early header but Dan Gosling equalised before halftime. When Ake swept in Cook’s freefound kick to put the home side 2-1 up, it seemed that there would only be one winner.

But after Moyes brought Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll off the bench, the Hammers were transformed.

The result keeps Bournemouth in the bottom three with just one win from their past nine league games.
