Fraser happy to eat for two

- Ian Winrow

RYAN FRASER was planning to celebrate his double strike with a Saturday-night Nando’s after admitting his decision to ease up on his diet has helped him get back to his best.

With today’s trip to Brighton looming, the winger knew he would quickly be burning off any excess calories.

But Fraser believes his decision to load up on the carbs – together with an extra portion of confidence – was one of the factors that fired his resurgence after a slow start to the campaign.

Fraser, 23, was the main reason Bournemouth head to the Amex Stadium having ended a run of eight games without a win, opening the scoring with a 33rdminute volley before firing a late winner after Idrissa Gueye’s 57th-minute equaliser.

“I tried everything to get my confidence back. I changed my eating habits, had chats with the manager. I saw the club psychologist but I just needed a bit

of luck,” he said. “I was eating a bit too healthy.

“I was probably trying to get a summer body rather than a football body but I’m better now. I’m eating more carbs and stuff like that. You can eat anything you like in moderation with a game in two days, it’s all energy. I’ll probably have a Nando’s tonight!”

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford kept Everton in the game but he could not prevent them suffering a first defeat under Sam Allardyce before today’s clash against Manchester United.

Allardyce admits his side will have to improve significantly.

“If we play our best then we’ll have a chance,” he said.

“We’ve lost against Bournemouth, which adds more pressure to make it up somewhere and it may have to be against a bigger club.” FRASER: Treats
