ENGLAND striker Harry Kane has had a fantastic year on the pitch but his celebrations landed him in the doghouse with his fiancee.

In a New Year’s message on social media site Instagram, Kane listed scoring eight hat-tricks and winning the Golden Boot for being the Premier League’s highest scoring player as his greatest achievements of 2017.

He even posted an arty photo of himself posing with match balls from the Tottenham games where he scored three goals and the Golden Boot trophy.

But Harry neglected to mention his engagement to girlfriend Kate Goodland or the birth of their daughter Ivy at the start of last year.

He was soon reprimanded by unimpressed fiancee Kate, 24, who commented under the photo: “First child? Engagement?”

Kane swiftly tried to remedy the situation with a cheeky kiss-blowing emoji and the reply: “Of course they were great as well babe.”

Daughter Ivy was born last January and the Spurs striker proposed to his childhood sweetheart on a beach in the Bahamas in July.

Celebrity

Kate’s own New Year’s post was much more family-focused with nine photos of the trio and the caption: “Happy New Year from our little family.”

Kane has previously said that the couple, who met at school and have been together since 2011, sometimes find his rise to celebrity status hard to believe.

The 24-year-old England player won the Golden Boot – a trophy awarded to the leading goal scorer in the Premier League – for a second consecutive year with 29 goals, beating his record of 25 goals in the previous season.

He was also crowned Europe’s top scorer for 2017 after netting 56 goals, beating Barcelona’s Lionel Messi to the award with a stunning eighth hat-trick of the year during Spurs’ Boxing Day defeat of Southampton.

Kane’s win put an end to Messi and Real Madrid’s Ronaldo’s eight-year domination of European scoring – they finished in second and fourth spots with 54 and 53 goals respectively.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino described Kane as “world-class” following his Boxing Day performance.

“Today – one striker in the world, a specific position – who is better than Harry?” he asked.
