Off night for Spence

-

FULHAM made Ipswich defender Jordan Spence pay for his red card with four goals in seven minutes to come from behind in a 4-1 win at Craven Cottage.

Ipswich had stunned their hosts just before the break when Joe Gardner scored for the second game in a row after he headed home a Martyn Waghorn free-kick.

But Spence was sent off for a strong off-the-ball challenge on Aboubakar Kamara early in the second half, which proved the turning point as Fulham blew away Ipswich in an astonishing seven-minute blitz.

Ryan Sessegnon equalised after 69 minutes before Kamara gave the hosts the lead from close range.

Sessegnon made it safe for Fulham with his second on 74 minutes, before a solo Kamara effort two minutes later completed the stunning turnaround.

Jacques Maghoma is stepping up and proving to be a key figure in Birmingham’s battle to beat the drop after setting the Blues on their way to 2-0 win at Reading.

The former Sheffield Wednesday winger scored his second important goal in as many games to break the deadlock at the Madejski Stadium.

His winner against Leeds on Saturday was followed up with a powerful finish after the Royals had failed to clear a Craig Gardner free-kick after 24 minutes.

Jeremie Boga then set up Sam Gallagher after 64 minutes as Birmingham won on the road for the first time since May to cheer manager Steve Cotterill.
