BOWIE’S NOT HOUSE OF FUN SUGGS EXPECTED

-

MADNESS frontman Suggs unsurprisingly expected rock ’n’ roll debauchery at David Bowie’s Alpine bolthole but the Starman offered him a bag of Twiglets instead!

The 57-year-old takes up the tale of when he was in Switzerland with his producer and received an invite to what he thought would be the party of all parties.

“David Bowie asked if we’d like to spend some time with him in his secret lair in the mountains in Gstaad,” he told Day & Night ahead of his upcoming one-man UK tour. “We go into the house and I whisper, ‘Here we go – dwarves with cocaine on their backs, girls with boa constrictors’. We go into the living room David cracks the cork on a half bottle of Merlot, breaks open a packet of Twiglets and shoves a VHS in the machine and we settle down to watch Once Upon A Time In America, the longest film ever made!” How quaint.
