Dad admits killing girl ‘strangled at £1m home’
AN ANTIQUES dealer appeared in court yesterday and admitted killing his seven-year-old daughter, who was allegedly strangled with a dressing gown cord.
Robert Peters, 55, allegedly left daughter Sophia fighting for her life after attacking her at their £1million home.
She was rushed to hospital but died next day.
Yesterday Peters made a brief appearance at the Old Bailey, where he denied murdering Sophia last November.
He admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Recorder of London Nicholas Hilliard, QC, remanded him in custody until his trial in April.
Peters, who ran an antiques business in Kensington, west London, had recently moved into the house in Raynes Park, south-west London, where the alleged attack on Sophia took place.
In a grey tracksuit, he spoke only to confirm his name in court yesterday. The £1million house in Raynes Park, London, where the alleged attack by Robert Peters, left, took place. Right, Sophia’s mother Kittiya Promsat
