Family business: Duo’s career milestones
CHRIS EUBANK SR
Former WBO world middleweight and super-middleweight champion will be in his son’s corner for the fight against George Groves a week on Saturday. Undefeated at middleweight, winning 28 bouts and holding the world title from November 1990 – having beaten Nigel Benn – until he changed weights after beating Michael Watson in June 1991.
Won the vacant super-middleweight title in September 1991 in a bout which left Watson in a coma.
Lost his title to Steve Collins in March 1995 on a unanimous decision.
Lost again to Collins and also to Joe Calzaghe as he attempted to win back his title.
CHRIS EUBANK JR
Eldest of four children was banned by his father from taking up boxing himself until he was 15 years old.
Moved to the US at 16 with younger brother Sebastian to stay with a guardian and take advantage of the American college system.
Won the Nevada Golden Gloves competition as an amateur boxer before joining the professional ranks in 2011.
Retained the British middleweight title against Tom Doran in June 2016 to finish with middleweight record of 23-1.
Knocked out Renold Quinlan to lift IBO super-middleweight belt in February 2017.
Fights George Groves at the Manchester Arena in attempt to take the Londoner’s WBA super-middleweight belt.
