MEGHAN SPA-RKLE!
She has pampering hen party with pals
ROYAL brideto-be Meghan Markle yesterday held her hen do at a glamorous spa. The TV star was joined by close friends, such as Made In Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh, for a whole day of pampering.
Absent though was her future sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Heavily pregnant Kate is thought to have wanted to join the party but spent the weekend resting.
Meghan’s mother yoga teacher Doria Radlan, 61, also missed out, remaining at her home in California.
Meghan, meanwhile, enjoyed her special day at the exclusive five-star retreat with a close-knit group, which is understood to have included trusted confidantes Misha Nonoo, 31, a US fashion designer and Violet von Westenholz, 33, daughter of a Baron.
The venue was kept secret for security reasons. But Meghan, 36, has previously been pictured looking carefree at luxury Oxfordshire resort Soho Farmhouse with Millie, 28, rumoured to be one of her bridesmaids.
News of the hen party emerged as it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan will have an armed protection officer in their carriage when they wed in Windsor on May 19.
The officer will reportedly be dressed as a footman and ride with the couple. A source said they needed somebody “right on their shoulder” who can act immediately in case of any disturbance.
“It’s going to be a huge public event and Meghan and Harry will be afforded the best protection there is,” the source added. It follows an “anthrax” scare last month in which a letter containing white powder purporting to be the deadly bacteria was sent to Kensington Palace with a racist note. It was intercepted while being sorted at St James’s Palace. However, tests revealed it was harmless.
Kensington Palace last night declined to comment.
