Spears, below, is planning to bring his conservatorship to an end as Britney appears to have her life back on track. It follows a US court decision to hand control of her assets to her dad, as well as her attorney Andrew M Wallet, after her now infamous 2007 breakdown.
With the 36-year-old’s Piece Of Me Tour set to kick off on July 12 in Washington DC, her father has apparently started the process of inquiring about his daughter regaining control of her finances and personal life. “Jamie is actively consulting with Britney’s medical team to determine if the conservatorship of Britney as the person should finally come to an end,” an insider tells website US weekly. “It’s just a question of timing as she is about to begin the tour, so the thinking is to do it at the conclusion.” Jamie is reportedly paid £100,000 annually by the Toxic singer to manage her affairs, while every purchase she makes is documented in court papers in a bid to safeguard her fortune. However, even if he relinquishes control, he’ll no doubt still be determined to fight demands from his daughter’s ex husband Kevin Federline, 40, to double his monthly £14,000 child support payments. As Day & Night reported last week, Jamie insisted that Kevin, the full legal guardian of their sons Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11, releases his 2017 tax return to prove he’s not using the money for other things.
