Corrie star Le Vell moves to hotel after ‘silly row’ with lover
CORONATION Street star Michael Le Vell has reportedly moved out of the house he shares with fiancee Louise Gibbons after a “domestic incident”.
The actor, 53, is said to have checked into the £70-a-night Holiday Inn in Manchester after his arrest on suspicion of assault last week.
Le Vell who plays mechanic Kevin Webster in the ITV soap, has apparently left his £330,000 house in Timperley, Cheshire, after falling down stairs during a bust-up on Thursday night.
Ms Gibbons, 42, is said to have been there when he slipped as he argued with an unknown person at the property.
Le Vell was taken to hospital for a check-up after a 999 call and was later arrested but released without charge. He has since described it as a “silly row” that got out of hand.
Troubled
Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to reports of an assault. They have classed it as a “domestic incident”.
A spokesman said: “Officers attended and arrested a 53-year-old man. He was taken to hospital, then into police custody for questioning.
“The man has since been released with no further action.”
Le Vell appeared to be trying to put the matter behind him as he joined co-stars in the bank holiday sunshine on Monday.
He donned shorts and a white shirt to enjoy a cold drink at Media City, Greater Manchester, and was also seen smoking near the hotel.
The star, who joined the cast of Coronation Street in 1983, met Ms Gibbons four years ago and the pair were rumoured to have become engaged before Christmas.
He is understood to have proposed after she helped him rebuild his life following a troubled few years. Le Vell was cleared of all charges after standing trial for child abuse in 2013 but has also battled alcoholism and bankruptcy.
In March 2014 he checked into rehab after admitting taking cocaine and was again temporarily dropped from the show.
He split with wife Janette, the mother of his two children, in 2011.
Corrie bosses yesterday said they would not be commenting further.
