A mistake but a bad one
IT IS traumatic enough to have to undergo a double mastectomy without discovering on waking up that you have been given the wrong type of breast implant. But that is what happened to Donna Finegan-White, who was not given the temporary medical implants she was expecting but instead cosmetic ones. It is imperative that we find out what happened.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has spoken in the past about the need to be more open when something goes wrong and that is certainly the case here. Yes, the NHS is under pressure, but if we don’t resolve this issue it might happen again.
Donna suffered trauma after the event, we must try to ensure others are not similarly affected.
