Bercow the hero for once in SNP’s comedy farce

Daily Express - - LETTERS -

THE SNP walkout during Prime Minister’s Questions reminds me of an old black and white Ealing comedy, with the plucky “everyman” hero leading the oppressed in defiance of their villainous masters (“Chaos as SNP stages walkout in protest at ‘post-exit power grab’”, June 14).

Of course, in the Ealing comedy the press and the nation fall in behind our heroes and it all comes good in the end.

By contrast in this farce, the nation was entirely indifferent to Ian Blackford and his MPs and just for once John Bercow, the Speaker of the House of Commons, was the hero of the day. Otto Inglis, Edinburgh
