I got carried away with tummy tweak

- By Laura Harding

KELLY Brook yesterday defended her decision to digitally alter photographs of herself as she embraces her “bigger size”.

The 38-year-old insisted that she’s doing nothing more than using make-up to enhance her appearance.

Kelly’s curves made her a favourite in her modelling heyday, but the former glamour girl told how she has piled on the pounds.

She sparked controversy when she shared altered pictures of herself at Royal Ascot with boyfriend Jeremy Parisi, 32.

But she insisted that she just wanted her dress to “look nicer” and got “carried away” when she nipped in her tummy.

She told ITV’s Loose Women: “I’m on telly, people can see what I look like – so it’s not like I’m really drastically changing how I look.

“I have put on weight as I’ve got older and I’m embracing being a bigger size.”

She added: “I’m not on a diet, I’m not telling other people to lose weight and this is the size you want to be. I was just trying to make the lines of the dress look a bit nicer. I really don’t over-think it.”

Brook explained that she was wearing an expensive dress and wanted to make sure it looked its best.

Wonky

She said: “I was in a car for two hours so I spent all this money on this lovely dress, spent hours getting ready and I sit in a car for two hours.

“So when I’m having my picture taken I am thinking, ‘Oh my dress is really creased and it was a little bit tight round the top part. I just thought I would smooth it out a little bit’. There are apps on my phone and I can just tweak it and make it look better.”

About how her tweaks were noticed, she said: “I blame Jeremy because he’s wearing pinstripes. I could have got away with it but the pinstripe went a little bit wonky. I got a bit carried away and I took my tummy in a little bit, I did do that.”

And Kelly said as a model she is used to looking at pictures in a different way.

“If I’m on holiday and I take a picture of a beach I always put a filter or something on it to bring out the sunset,” she said.

“So when I look at myself I think, ‘Oh that’s a nice picture’ but I think I can make it a bit better.”

And she drew attention to her appearance on the show, saying: “This isn’t real. I’ve just spent two hours in hair and make-up. I didn’t wake up like this. Nothing is real, so how far do you want to go?”
