Sight not to be mist, giant bank of fog rolls in
A HOLIDAYMAKER snapped this dramatic picture of a huge wall of sea fog rolling past Land’s End in Cornwall yesterday.
The cloud bank occurs when warm air from the land hits cooler air over water.
Father-of-three Dan Bourne, 35, from Preston, said: “It was moving very quickly over the sea and over us – it wasn’t something I’d seen before.”
The Met Office said there is a 90 per cent probability the heatwave will continue until tomorrow. Forecasters have issued a heat health alert for London, the South-east and the East of England. Craig Snell from the Met Office said to expect “highs of up to 34C” [95F] in some areas.
The heatwave is due to come to an end as early as tomorrow. But forecaster Bonnie Diamond said Britain could still look forward to an Indian Summer with aboveaverage temperatures in the autumn.
