Patients play the waiting game in latest NHS crisis
PEOPLE will be waiting to see a consultant for much longer than they wait to see a doctor (“Why are we waiting? Patient fury over GP surgeries crisis”, August 4).
My husband spoke to a doctor regarding a hernia operation last September, he was put on the list and saw a consultant in March.
He is still waiting for an operation nearly a year on.
Similarly, he also needs an eye operation and has been on the list since March, had two assessments but no operation as yet.
The NHS has now turned into a continuous waiting game for those who cannot opt to go private.
