Caught on CCTV...thug’s brutal attack on a mum
SHOCKING footage of a thug repeatedly punching a single mother posted on social media at the weekend has been viewed almost a million times.
Gemma Cooper, 30, yesterday told how she feared her jaw would be broken during the horrifying attack in her garden in front of her 13-year-old son.
“It was terrifying,” she said. Images show the man grab Ms Cooper by the throat while two other men look on at around 7am on Sunday. He punches her twice in the head, then punches her twice more, sending her reeling.
Ms Cooper, who also has an 11-month-old son and a boy of five with autism, passed the footage to police. Jimmy Wells, the partner of Ms Cooper’s mother Diane, later posted the clip on Facebook, writing: “Feel more than free to share. People need to know what this little woman-beating **** is all about.”
Moira Such, 73, told how she sped to her granddaughter’s house in Leicester after a call for help from the “hysterical” 13-year-old. She said: “It was an appalling, vicious attack and Gemma had to stay with me the next night because she was too frightened to go home. Luckily she had recently installed CCTV because she has had stuff stolen from the garden.
“Her mum’s busy with work so I’m taking her to A&E to have her face X-rayed. She wants to press charges.”
Police said: “A 23-year-old Leicester man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.”
