Bruce’s wife Wilnelia ... a model again at 61
LADY Wilnelia Forsyth yesterday hailed her 35-year marriage to husband Bruce as the “most amazing” time of her life.
The 61-year-old model proved she can still strike a pose as she modelled JD Williams’ glamorous Christmas collection designed for women aged over 45.
And she told how the defining phase of her life began when she was crowned Miss World in 1975.
She said: “It was a wonderful experience at such a young age – I was travelling the world and I was introduced to Beauty with a Purpose, the Miss World foundation, which inspired me to start my own charity to improve disadvantaged children’s lives and education. Because of Miss World, I met my husband Bruce, and had the most amazing 35 years of my life. This is something I will treasure forever.”
Lady Wilnelia met the legendary entertainer at the 1980 Miss World competition gala in London, and the pair married three years later. They have one son, Jonathan.
Although she was left heartbroken by her husband’s death last year at the age of 89, the Puerto Rican model said she is looking forward to trying new things.
She said: “I’ve had the same attitude and approach to my ‘midster’ years as I had when I entered my 20s.
“Stay positive, be kind, work hard and remember what your goals are, even when things aren’t going so well.
“I have been fortunate enough to live through some very exciting times already, but there’s so much more to come.
“There may be grandchildren to look forward to and so many more ‘firsts’ that haven’t happened yet. “That’s exciting to me. “I feel like I have entered into a new chapter of my life.” Nice to see her back...to see her nice.
