It will be strange to tour without Posh say Spice 4
THE Spice Girls admitted yesterday it would be “strange” performing without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham – as they teased fans about plans for a new album to accompany their UK tour next year. Victoria, 44, told her Instagram followers on Monday that she wouldn’t be joining the other four Spice Girls on stage in 2019, but wished Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton all the best for their six-date run. “She’s very excited for us... It’s going to be strange, you know, because none of us can watch the Spice Girls on stage but she will be able to,” Mel C said of Posh Spice in an interview for Heart Radio. Scary Spice Mel B said the quartet would begin recording a new album next week, only for Sporty Spice Mel C to say her bandmate was “fibbing”. Asked by host Jamie Theakston “which Spice Girl needs the money the most?” Mel B replied: “Me because I’m divorced!” Geri said: “I love her honesty.” But Mel B later told the DJ: “Can I just rectify something? Actually I don’t need the money. I’m quite rich. I’m just doing it because I love you girls.”
The money is “secondary”, she added.
Geri joked that she was more “Granny Spice” than Ginger Spice because of her bra size.
The six-date tour is the latest reunion for one of Britain’s biggest girl bands, who formed in 1994 and sold tens of millions of albums with hit singles including Wannabe, 2 Become 1 and Say You’ll Be There.
The girls have not performed since the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012 and last toured 10 years ago.
