England hit by Tomkins blow
SAM TOMKINS has been ruled out of England’s bid for a 3-0 whitewash over New Zealand.
The full-back broke his hand five minutes into the 20-14 win at Anfield. He played the entire match but is out of Sunday’s Elland Road clash, taking the tally of missing stars to four.
George Burgess is banned for eye-gouging, Daryl Clark has a broken rib and captain Sean O’Loughlin is again out with a calf injury.
Coach Wayne Bennett said: “We’ll bring Richie Myler in, and Joe Greenwood and Stefan Ratchford will go on to the bench.”
A 3-0 series win will send out a message to the world that England are now a real force but Bennett said: “We have been a bit lucky – we have won by two points and six.
